跨域  BETWEEN / INTERDISCIPLINARY

藝術創作是對空間及行為的投射，其源自個人對自身感知的紀錄；這種深藏的潛意識皆和個人所生所處之文化環境、社會背景產生互動；而這種創作的動力與反饋存在於各種不同的設計創作領域，領域僅僅是一種對於尺度差異的分辨，而意識卻是相通的，這些意識承載於設計所表現的詮釋手法、技術、材料，如同 布品的織就 與 空間的構築；物質的肌理 與 都市的文脈；環境中的樣態 與 舞台上的肢體；演藝的即興 與 城市的事件；藉由領域間的對話誘發設計意識的挖掘與釋放； 藉由跨域的交織，讓設計與藝術以更多樣的面貌與人互動並走進城市。

The act of creation or design is the projection of one’s consciousness onto space and behavior, an interpretation of one’s experience, associated with cognition and sensation. Cognition and sensation, embedded in the subconscious, comes from one’s cultural background and the society one lives in. Such association, being the act of creation and design, is the process of design thinking that is concerned with creation, common in every design discipline; with the difference often reflected only in scale of the outcome. The consciousness or correspondence is realized in design methods or skill. The rationale and process behind the realization is in common, through the knitting of material and the construction of space; through the texture of material and the urban texture; through the form of the environment and the dancing body on the stage; through the extemporaneous performance and the planned events or incidents in the city. This workshop attempts to induce and develop design thinking via dialogues between different design disciplines, promote interaction of art and design with the urban dwellers in a variety of forms.

高雄，一個位於海洋邊境的南方城市。她的城市發展一直與海洋纏繞著，在這個水與陸的交界地帶，孕育著工業城市文化的特殊性，船舶機械的巨影、藍領的豪邁熱情。歷史的曾經與記憶、海洋的生態與自然，映射於在地的工藝技法（拆船工業、五金打鐵），潛藏於社會的底層活動（船員的pub、秀場）。當我們與這些慣常的印象與行為或將這些印象與行為是為理所當然的人們開始進行反思與對話，就如同對深層結構的拆解與重構，是一種邁向對精神意識探索的、或反動的過程。 在這大河入港的一彎綠地…….

Kaohsiung, a city in the south located by the coastline.The urban development of Kaohsiung has long been associated with the ocean, at the border of land and sea, developed by the urban and industrial culture, the shadow cast by marine machinery and the heroic enthusiasm of the blue collars. The history evokes memories, ecology and nature of the ocean is reflected in the local industry - shipbreaking and metalworking, and in the pubs and entertainment frequented by sailors in the unseen levels of society. The dialogue and introspection on the usual impression of environment and behavior is the decomposing and reconstructing of an innate structure, it is a process of revolutionary act and challenge on the spiritual rationality.
